This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Engineering based in India.
This is a remote leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to guide software development teams and oversee the successful delivery of critical technology initiatives. You’ll serve as a key connection point between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and other departments. The role combines technical understanding with people leadership, project oversight, coaching, and strategic planning. You’ll help teams overcome delivery challenges, maintain momentum, and consistently meet project goals. You’ll also play an important role in developing talent through mentoring, feedback, training, and performance management. This position is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building high-performing teams.
Oversee software development projects and track initiatives to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned project initiatives, communicating objectives, priorities, and expectations clearly.
Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and software development teams to ensure strong alignment between technical execution and organizational goals.
Identify and remove roadblocks that could affect team productivity, project timelines, or delivery outcomes.
Collaborate closely with other departments and organizational stakeholders on cross-functional initiatives.
Lead, coach, mentor, and train direct reports and entry- to mid-level software developers.
Provide regular performance feedback, conduct annual performance evaluations, and support the ongoing professional development of team members.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and compensation processes while contributing to effective hiring strategies in accordance with applicable laws and internal policies.
Manage resources within established budgets and authorization limits, while contributing input to future budgeting and financial planning.
Promote a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing engineering culture.
Travel occasionally as required for business needs.
10+ years of software development experience and/or relevant technical training, with strong experience in engineering environments.
At least 2 years of leadership, people management, training, or mentoring experience.
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
Strong understanding of software development processes, project delivery, and engineering team dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and deliver initiatives in dynamic and rapidly changing environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into clear technical goals.
Proven ability to coach, mentor, develop, and provide constructive feedback to software engineers.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple organizational departments and functions.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly when removing delivery obstacles and managing competing priorities.
Demonstrated humility, curiosity, accountability, and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate within organizational policies, guidelines, budgets, and authorization limits.
