Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico Student Health& Counseling clinic (SHAC) is recruiting for a knowledgeable,detail-oriented Medical CodingAnalyst to coordinate the processing of fees for professionalservices provided to patients within a specified group of clinical areas, forthe purpose of reimbursement. This position analyzes patient medical records toassure that documentation by providers conforms to legal and proceduralrequirements and assigns specified codes to medical diagnoses and/or clinicalprocedures. Additionally, this position interacts with physicians and otherproviders regarding billing and documentation policies and procedures.

The Student Health & Counseling Center is located at thecenter of campus. The clinic provides comprehensive primary and mental healthservices and has a laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy, massage,acupuncture, case management, and health promotions on site. Other medicalservices provided are same day appointments, travel medicine, immunizations,and sports medicine.
