Job Summary
Perform general accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, cost accounting review, and financial reporting for Mancino Manufacturing. Monitor financial information and processes for accuracy, recommend and implement approved improvements, and leverage available systems to strengthen efficiency and decision-making. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and may support employee-related financial activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting and bookkeeping activities, including maintaining financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, preparing invoices and payments, applying customer payments, completing journal entries and account reconciliations, reviewing general ledger activity, following up on outstanding balances, and supporting period-end close. - 30%
- Review and maintain cost accounting information and processes related to materials, labor, overhead, freight, inventory, product and project costs, production variances, and margins. Consistently monitor the accuracy and effectiveness of cost information, investigate discrepancies, recommend changes, and implement approved improvements to spreadsheets, systems, and processes. - 30%
- Prepare recurring financial reports, cost analyses, account schedules, variance explanations, and other financial information. Interpret results and provide clear, accurate reporting that helps management evaluate profitability, operational performance, pricing, budgets, and other business decisions. - 15%
- Communicate with vendors, customers, employees, and internal teams regarding invoices, payments, account balances, discrepancies, documentation, cost information, and other financial matters. Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain complete and accurate information. - 15%
- Support employee-related financial activities, which may include payroll coordination, employee reimbursements, expense documentation, payment-related questions, and maintenance of confidential financial records. - 10%

Minimum Requirements
Education - Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience
Experience - 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and exposure to cost, inventory, or operational financial information
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping practices, including journal entries, general ledger activity, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Working knowledge of cost accounting concepts, including materials, labor, overhead, inventory, product and project costs, production variances, and margins
Knowledge of how accounting and business systems support transaction processing, cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting
Strong spreadsheet skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and financial analysis
Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and related business technology
Skill in analyzing financial information, investigating discrepancies, and identifying underlying causes
Skill in evaluating and improving spreadsheets, workflows, controls, and accounting processes
Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and explain findings to financial and nonfinancial stakeholders
Ability to independently manage recurring deadlines, competing priorities, and supporting documentation
Ability to identify opportunities to better leverage available systems and implement approved improvements
Ability to recognize and appropriately escalate complex or higher-risk accounting matters
Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and commitment to accuracy
Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information
Proactive and improvement-focused approach to work
Preferred Qualifications
Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
Experience - Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including inventory, product costing, job costing, project profitability, or production-related cost analysis
Certifications - Relevant bookkeeping, accounting, or financial systems certification
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Experience with QuickBooks Online, Zoho, or comparable accounting and business systems
Experience reviewing or improving cost accounting spreadsheets, systems, or processes
Experience supporting payroll, employee reimbursements, audits, budgets, forecasts, tax preparation, or internal control improvements
Understanding of manufacturing workflows and the relationship between operational activity, product cost, pricing, and profitability
Physical Demands
This position requires prolonged sitting and working at a computer. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in person and electronically and may occasionally bend, reach, stoop, or lift up to 15 pounds.
