Our core expertise includes small to large metal stampings and complex welded assemblies including Class A appearance trim, structural, exterior, interior, exhaust, N.V.H., ride control, seating, steering column, brake, chassis, and safety related components.
Requirements:- Works independently, dependable, and able to work to production rates and deadlines.
- Experience reading micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
- Minimum of two years’ experience setting up and running laser and turret equipment (Amada preferred). Comfortable processing a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate the Amada EMLK laser turret combo; adjust machine controls as required.
- Select proper tooling and load or edit programs at the machine, then start and observe machine operation during first part production to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Gauge and inspect work to engineering specifications. Perform first piece, in-process, and last piece inspection per print and maintain quality assurance records.
- Keep the equipment in constant use and work with minimum supervision, troubleshooting set-up and run issues as they arise.
- Tear down machine or hand tool set-up upon completion of a production run, returning all tools, equipment, and accessories to their proper locations.
- Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and keep the machine and shop tools in good working order.
- Assist the maintenance department with routine upkeep according to manufacturer’s recommendations, maintaining proper alignment and condition of the machine.
- Work with the supervisor and engineering regarding discrepancies between planned target times and actual set-up and/or run times.
- Process required paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedure.
- Understand the PLEX system: control panel loading, recording production, scrap, and unloading containers.
- All positions are cross-functional; may assist in other manufacturing areas that management deems necessary.
- Additional duties as assigned.
