Position Summary

The Motorcycle Assistant Sales Manager supports the Sales Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the motorcycle sales department. This position assists with developing and coaching sales staff, driving motorcycle sales performance, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining dealership profitability. The Assistant Sales Manager leads by example, actively participates in guest interactions, and helps ensure departmental goals and objectives are achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of the motorcycle sales department.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Motorcycle Sales Associates.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to sales staff to improve sales effectiveness and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with establishing and monitoring sales goals, productivity standards, and department performance metrics.
  • Lead by example through active involvement in motorcycle sales and guest interactions.
  • Ensure all guests receive a professional, courteous, and exceptional buying experience.
  • Support sales associates in closing transactions and overcoming sales obstacles.
  • Maintain knowledge of current motorcycle inventory, manufacturer programs, promotions, financing options, and dealership initiatives.
  • Monitor CRM activities to ensure proper follow-up with leads, showroom traffic, internet inquiries, and phone prospects.
  • Assist with inventory management, merchandising, showroom presentation, and motorcycle displays.
  • Coordinate with Finance & Insurance, Parts & Accessories, and Service departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Help plan and support dealership events, promotional activities, rides, and community outreach programs.
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable legal regulations.
  • Assist in preparing sales reports and monitoring departmental performance.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty when designated.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Proficient with social media posting and building book of business
  • Video lead response and follow up with all guests
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and guest relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop sales professionals.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and dealership management software.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Passion for motorcycles and the powersports industry preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Motorcycle endorsement preferred.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of motorcycle, powersports, automotive, or retail sales experience required.
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, or sales management experience preferred.
  • Harley-Davidson dealership experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to operate motorcycles for demonstration and training purposes where permitted.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and vendors in person, by phone, and electronically.

Work Environment

Fast-paced motorcycle dealership environment with frequent interaction among guests, sales personnel, service staff, and management. Work includes showroom activities, outdoor events, motorcycle demonstrations, and dealership-sponsored rides. Evening, weekend, and event participation is required.
