Lead Commercial HVAC/R Installer- New York, NY

Americold a 35 year old company, a subsidiary of Tech24, is a full-service commercial kitchen equipment repair company. We provide complete foodservice equipment maintenance and repair services for restaurants, QSRs, convenience stores, retailers, coffee shops, and concessions operations; specializing in commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment. Lead Commercial HVAC/R Installer is responsible for leading HVAC/R install projects, driving a company vehicle to and from customer sites to load, transport, and install commercial kitchen equipment. Lead Commercial HVAC/R Installer will also provide excellent customer service and must be dependable and able to work independently or with little supervision.

Responsibilities of the Lead Commercial HVAC/R Installer:

• Loads, transports, and installs commercial kitchen equipment into restaurants.
• Inspects the commercial kitchen equipment and their related components to ensure safe operation.
• Communicates with customer and branch office regarding status of installs to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated with customers.
• Completes service tickets according to procedures.
• Performs manual tasks such as: bending, reaching, standing, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., or maneuvering heavier items with additional manpower or appropriate devices.
• Tracks truck stock to insure needed parts are stocked on vehicle.
• Sustains service vehicle, tools, and uniforms to Tech24 standards.
• Sets a positive example for less experienced and/or new technicians by being a Company advocate.
• Follows all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety.

Qualifications of the Lead Commercial HVAC/R Installer:

• Proficient in running copper line sets of all sizes
• Capable of managing a project from inception to completion
• Competent in interpreting blueprints and plans
• Background in refrigeration and technical expertise, with the capability to conduct start-ups following installation
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• EPA certification or other refrigeration license
• 3-5 years of similar job experience
• Superb customer service skills
• Dependable and able to work independently
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
• Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational abilities
• Ability to work some nights, weekend, and holidays for on-call rotation with your department (frequency varies with department size)
