About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides vision, leadership, and oversight of the Safety Management Program, Security Management Program, and the Emergency Preparedness Program. Serves as Safety Officer for the hospital and all off site locations. Manages regulatory compliance with applicable standards including certain OSHA, Joint Commission Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management Standards. Coordinates with all departments in the management of these areas of responsibility. Manages the Security Department employees including recruiting, training, scheduling, discipline and recognition. Works to achieve high employee engagement within the Security Services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field. (Equivalent work experience on a year for year basis may be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.)
  • 5 years Security/Law Enforcement Administration AND 3 years Supervisory/Leadership experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate in situations that are controversial and/or sensitive that result in authoritative decisions.
  • Ability to read and interpret laws and regulations.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in Word and Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety and risk management theory/concepts.
