OPERATOR-EXCAVATOR at Solon Corporation – Tucson, Arizona

SOLON Corporation, a leading commercial solar design and construction company in Arizona, seeks qualified Operators/Excavators to work on its projects throughout the Southwest United States. We are looking for applicants who reside in the Southwestern United States as potential candidates for this position.

Location: Tucson or Phoenix, AZ

POSITION SUMMARY

Equipment operation in support of the installation of solar power plants.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating a variety of equipment, including but not limited to skid steers, mini-excavators, forklifts, backhoes, etc., as well as using hand tools
• Trenching, excavating, and grading
• Mounting solar modules
• Minor concrete and paving work
• Miscellaneous construction site tasks as assigned

Education and Experience

• Two years of experience operating a variety of construction equipment
• Three years of general labor experience in construction, including trenching, excavating, etc.
• High school diploma or GED

Other Competencies and Requirements

• Clean safety and driving record
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• Ability to travel a minimum of 75% of the time in-state and out-of-state

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work can be physically demanding, working frequently in an outdoor environment in various weather and working conditions. May be subjected to extreme weather conditions and terrain, as well as physical circumstances involving extensive climbing, lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces. It requires weekday, and possibly weekend work on assigned sites and work supporting those designated sites. Assigned sites may also require travel, overnight, or extended stays. Sites typically are in the Southwestern United States. Note: This is a site-safety position.
