The Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customer service, responding to inquiries regarding production and delivery status, order changes, revised quotes, or offering alternative solutions. This role holds accountability for customer satisfaction and works closely with all departments to ensure the smooth flow of company processes from order procurement to order fulfillment. Additionally, the Inside Sales Representative proactively collaborates with other departments to address and resolve any sales or non-sales-related issues raised by customers. The representative is responsible for informing customers of order status and delivery schedules. Furthermore, the role includes post-delivery communication with customers to ascertain customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

• Research and address customer concerns regarding identified issues
• Provide material quotes to customers in accordance with established guidelines
• Address inventory or scheduling inquiries from customers or Territory Managers
• Receive, review, reconcile customer purchase order details, and create sales orders
• Gather customer information, including credit details, for account setup
• Monitor systems and collaborate with others to confirm schedules
• Notify customers of order status and delivery schedules
• Follow up with customers post-delivery to ensure satisfaction
• Generate reports as needed

• Daily invoicing
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications, Certifications, and Experience

• College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with technology based customer relationship management preferred
• Prior experience in full service sales or customer service helpful
• Steel industry experience preferred, but not required

Environment and Working Conditions

• Work is normally performed in person in the Birmingham, AL office
• Very limited travel required
• No or very limited physical effort or physical risk
