JOB DESCRIPTION

CLEANING ROOM HELPER/ BALE PRESS/ SAW FILER/ SAW CHANGER

SUMMARY: Assist Cleaning Room Operator in proper operation of seed cleaning room, and filters. Operate and help maintain equipment in the seed cleaning room, when the cleaning room operator is absent. Keep the work area clean.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Blow dust and lint from overhead structures

Keep work area clean by sweeping, shoveling, picking up trash, etc.

Keep all magnets in work area free of metal and other foreign matter.

Throw all metal and other foreign matter into the trash bins; do not feed it back into the seed line.

Keep screens in boll reels clean.

Keep trays on seed cleaners clean using brushes and compressed air as necessary.

Keep screens on mote beaters clean. Blow them out at least twice a shift.

Assist in keeping a full flow of seed through the cleaning room.

Performs routine maintenance on mill equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, and minor mechanical repair.

Report all mechanical problems to supervisor.

Report all safety hazards to supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

USER-DEFINED:

Assists in other areas as directed by supervisor.

Must comply with all PYCO Industries, Inc. rules, regulations, and safety procedures.

Must comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and DEQ regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE~ Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Drivers license preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
