Industrial Engineering Technician at Global Cooling Inc – Athens, Ohio

General Summary and Purpose:

The Industrial Engineering Technician is a core member of the Engineering department. The Industrial Engineering Technician is responsible for performing industrial engineering activities with a focus on process development and improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Industrial engineering activities including:
• Suggest revisions to operation methods, material handling, or equipment layout,
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas,
• Prepare charts, diagrams, and other graphs to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, how materials are handled, and how machines are used,
• Collect and analyze data to assist in process improvement activities.
• Computer Aided Drafting & Design
• Perform Enterprise Requirements Planning software activities
• Managing engineering changes including adding new items,
• Creating and altering bills of materials,
• Working with materials sourcing group to coordinate ERP activity,
• Creating workflows to capture accurate costs for assemblies and manufactured components.
• Management of Change engineering related activity
• Engineering Document management
• Preparation and release of production documents used in manufacturing process
• Maintenance of released production documents
• Obsolete end of life documents
• Works in collaboration with other engineers and technicians in the group
• The role may also be required to assist new product development with design activity.
• In addition, the role may also be required to assist new product development with supporting document creation.

Job Specifications:

• A minimum of two-year degree in one of the following fields of study:
• Industrial or Engineering technology,
• Industrial design,
• Pre-engineering,
• Computer Aided Design and Drafting.
• Relevant work experience may be considered in place of degree with 4 years of work experience in a similar position.
• Other software experience preferred (but not mandatory):
• Master Control – document control and management
• Infor Syteline – enterprise resource planning (ERP)
