Essential Functions and Duties

The Nurse Educator is a professional nurse who provides consultation to nursing personnel and conducts and coordinates educational experiences. The responsibilities encompass assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical skills development, in-services and continuing education programs at the Unit and/or Department level.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN required, Masters degree in Nursing or other allied professional discipline

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years experience teaching as a Nursing Educator or teaching in a professional capacity in an allied field

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse.
  • CPR certification is recommended
  • Certification in specialty areas desirable.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, leadership, teamwork and collaboration
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to think quickly and multitask effectively
  • Ability to complete job duties autonomously
  • Proficient with using computer and software applications
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
