FORMULATION SCIENTIST at LGM Pharma, LLC – Rosenberg, Texas

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for formulation development, process optimization and evaluating critical process parameters CPPs) of semi-solid land liquid (SSL) dosage forms, including rectal and vaginal suppositories/pessaries and topical foams.
• Have thorough understanding of critical material attributes (CMAs) required for successful development and scale-up of finished dosage forms.
• Generates protocols, reports and master batch records and formula cards for scale-up and stability batches.
• Assist in selecting and ordering supplies and raw materials.
• Assist in evaluating new equipment
• Bench/lab work of 50%-70% of time, depending on formulation workload.
• Perform visual inspection and physical testing on intermediates and finished dosage forms.
• Knowledge of handling machines such as Viscometers, Rheometers, Penetrometers, Suppository testing equipment, Vertical (Franz) diffusion cells for IVRT/IVPT etc.
• Other related duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• MS in Pharmaceutics (PHD preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in formulation development, scale-up and manufacturing of pharmaceutical drugs products or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experienced in the use of design of experiments (DoE) concepts when developing new formulations.
• Ability to work with MS office suite.
• Requires good knowledge of CGMP.
• Flexibility of working hours required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively perform concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
