About This Position

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Supports the Dean of Enrollment and Marketing and the Registrar in accomplishing the goals of Bryan College of Health Sciences. Duties will include recruitment, processing transfer credit, curriculum planning, registration of students and academic advising functions for prospective and newly admitted students. Collaboratively develops and coordinates, conducts and assesses recruitment strategies for undergraduate prospective students with a focus on students with transfer credit. Helps plan and participate in recruitment events, builds relationships with college contacts in target areas and attends transfer fairs, as well as communicates effectively with prospective students through multiple means of communication.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Commit to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. Supports recruitment activities of the college by building relationships and brand visibility.

3. Assists with creating visibility for undergraduate programs to enhance recruitment activities.

4. *Maintains accurate records within the customer relationship management system and reports outcomes of recruitment activities to Dean of Enrollment and Marketing and campus stakeholders.

5. Visits targeted communities to recruit prospective students.

6. *Recruits and communicates with students through email, phone, SMS and CRM system.

7. *Collaborate with the Dean of Enrollment and Marketing and staff in planning, developing and implementing recruitment and marketing activities.

8. *Provides information and tours to applicants during campus and group visits.

9. *Counsels prospective students on college admission requirements and transfer credits.

10. *Monitors the progress of student contacts from inquiry through enrollment.

11. *Assists in processing transfer credit and building curriculum plans for undergraduate prospective students in collaboration with the registrar department.

12. *Participates in the student registration process each term.

13. *Implements academic policies related to registration and records; communicating with students, faculty and staff to ensure procedures are standardized and rules are consistently applied.

14. *Provides information, consultation and recommendations to applicants and potential students regarding their plans of study.

15. *Participates in the advising process for students with regard to general education credits that may transfer from other institutions.

16. Complies with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) in fulfillment of duties.

17. Participates in appropriate local and/or national college associations to remain current in local, state and national college related issues.

18. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

19. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

20. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws that govern college student registration, records and privacy rights.

2. Knowledge of educational undergraduate recruiting and retention philosophies and practices.

3. Knowledge of college and university curriculums and career offerings.

4. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

5. Knowledge of academic registration, records management and student advising practices and processes.

6. Knowledge of college organization, goals and objectives, policies and procedures.

7. Skill in excellent communication and organizational skills.

8. Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external individuals, groups and organizations.

9. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.

10. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

11. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, faculty, volunteer and ancillary departments.

12. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and complete work assignments per required timelines.

13. Ability to effectively evaluate and document observations.

14. Ability to develop and implement college processes and strategies to recruit and retain students specific to the undergraduate level.

15. Ability to understand and successfully apply academic policy for higher education.

16. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

17. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.

18. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, marketing or related field required. Experience with student information systems preferred.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Valid State of Nebraska driver’s license required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)
