Coordinator, Residence and Student Development

Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Residence Managers. The Coordinator, Residence and Student Development will be part of a team to develop a supportive, engaging, and inviting residence community. The incumbent will support the housing program, including working with the Residence Managers to assist with individual student accountability and community well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Residence team to create fair, educational, and re-integrative conduct practices to support student accountability and community well-being
- Support the Residence Managers with residence student conduct meetings and behavior management programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the internal database and tracking systems used by Huron for student support.
- Provide on-call coverage during overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Support and collaborate with dons with programming to educate on campus and residence safety and mitigate community issues.
Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate from an accredited post-secondary institute; commensurate experience will also be considered.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in a post-secondary residence program;
- Knowledge of post-secondary student transition, community building strategies, student management, etc. in a residence life/housing program;
- Knowledge and understanding along with the ability to interpret the student life cycle;
- Excellent organizational, time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, customer service oriented, excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Compensation:
The Coordinator, Residence and Student Development, will receive a compensation package as follows:
- Annual salary of $42,000 subject to statutory deductions that Huron is required to make pursuant to law (including taxable benefits);
- Single-occupancy accommodation within our Huron residences valued at $12,600;
- A partial meal plan valued at $3,276 from September to April to be enjoyed at the Huron Dining Hall.
