About This Position
APPLICATION SPECIALIST BUSINESS

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
- The Business Application Specialist acts as a liaison between Information Technology, business users, vendors, and physicians. This position is responsible for keeping designated applications and associated software fully operational and integrated into the hospital & healthcare centers. The Business Application Specialist must stay current with healthcare regulations; deep knowledge of day-to-day workings of the areas that they support, and how the use of the existing and new technology can improve the revenue cycle area. This position will work in conjunction with the business user to support current IT systems and process and continuously improve the patient experience and outcomes through process improvement and IT systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Professional/Educational
- Bachelors degree preferred with a major in Computer Sciences, Finance, or related healthcare field.
- Three to five years healthcare experience preferred.
- At least two years of experience working with EHR financial applications required; preferably Meditech and eCW.
- Experience in workflow analysis.
- Experience working with end users in creating business requirements.
- Strong process improvement, project management, communication, training, decision making, and troubleshooting skills.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle management and process flows.
- Experience implementing, integrating, and supporting in-house and ancillary applications.
- Experience working with consultants preferred.

- Ability to analyze problems and make resolution recommendations.
- Possess superior human relation skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills required.
- Excellent customer service.
- Ability to manage project teams.
- Ability to effectively lead workgroups in process redesign, training, assigning and monitoring of tasks.
- Ability to effectively manage workload including planning, organizing, prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and paying attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
