About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY

The VP of Human Resources leads, plans and drives all strategic and operational business initiatives for Human Resource services, policies, procedures, and programs across the entire company. In addition, this role plans and organizes the company’s approach to Strategic Planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Primary accountability for specific functions and results)

1. Always serves as a positive role model consistent with Polo’s corporate culture.

2. Uses broad knowledge of HR Field to apply specific tools (e.g., Market Based Pay, Engagement Surveys, etc.) when they are needed by the company.

3. Monitors culture, HR climate company-wide, and general morale and makes suggestions/changes where they are needed.

4. Provides direction, strategy, and methodology to HR and Training teams for company-wide training and local offerings.

5. Formulates and recommends legally compliant HR company policies/procedures for inclusion in associate handbooks.

6. Submits and manages the annual HR budget in conjunction with the CFO.

7. Assists the CEO & CFO with annual review compliance in ADP and is a trusted advisor with regard to salary increases and changes.

8. Sources, recruits, hires, integrates, engages and retains A-players using legal and progressive practices. Ensures there is an annual review of pay grades/job tiers program so that pay ranges are competitive for our industry.

9. Conducts market research compensation studies for all locations.

10. Leads all employee benefit programs to include any compliance activities or audits.

11. Designs and oversees company-wide HR practices including valid Selection practices,

performance review, 360, competency models, Training, and succession planning.

12. Monitors the national HR environment for legal compliance updates, as well as for continuous improvement opportunities.

13. Ensures all HR activities and reporting are in compliance with our obligations as a federal sub-contractor, which includes EEO-1 reporting, Vets-100A reporting, Affirmative Action Plans, and E-Verify. 14. Serves on Executive Team, 401(k) Board of Trustees, and as HIPAA Compliance Officer for the company. 15. Travels to manufacturing facilities on a regular basis, attends seminars, and conferences as needed. 16. Monitors work comp safety programs and open claim case management assigned to plant HR. 17. Plans and organizes company strategy, meetings, agendas, tools, etc. to ensure that the company remains forward thinking and has direction for the future.

DIMENSIONS OF AUTHORITY

Positions that report to this position: Plant HR Mangers, HR Business Partner, and Plant Trainers. Limits of authority to change subordinates’ salaries, job assignments, operating policies, etc.: N/A

Limits of capital expenditure authority: Limited to Budget approval process. Other limits to authority: N/A

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:

Education: (minimum required) Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. Prefer some graduate/undergraduate coursework (e.g., Organization Development, Employee Selection, Psychological Testing, etc.) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Organization Development.

Experience: (minimum required) 7-10 years of experience in HR and at least two years of supervisory experience. Multi-site manufacturing experience preferred, experience and working knowledge of HR Systems preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: (minimum required) HR certification from SHRM or HRCI required.

9. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively both orally and in written form.

10. Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, typing and data entry.

Physical Requirements:

1. Able to sit for extended periods of time and work with PC or desk top computer.

2. Able to communicate via phone, e-mail, or in person with internal and external customers.

3. Able to constantly move about the facility.

4. Able to travel independently.

5. Able to utilize standard office technology and digital productivity tools
