Job Description
Performs a variety of receptionist and clerical duties associated with the Diagnostic departments operation
under the supervision of the Diagnostic Manager. Communicates with all disciplines to coordinate the activities
of the departments.
Responsibilities:
Schedules tests, procedures, and appointments.
Prepares and maintains an accurate clinical department records.
Organizes the daily schedule for patient testing.
Handles department communications, functioning as a receptionist, greeting patients and visitors, and
handling telephone communications.
Communicates with patient care team members to facilitate the exchange of information to plan for
patient care services.
Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or equivalent
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Solid computer skills
Medical Terminology preferred
Strong organizational skills
Professional demeanor
Ability to set priorities and work independently as well as in a team
Ability to receive and carry out directions

Performs complex care coordination scheduling for multiple modalities, providers, and area schedules. Schedule Imaging exams and procedures for a wide variety of customers including internal and external providers. Review orders for adequate exam indication, consulting with technologists and providers as needed to ensure all required information is captured.

Prepares and maintains an accurate clinical record and partners with clinical staff and patients to provide exam prep instructions and obtain patient questionnaires.

Obtain prior authorizations timely utilizing multiple programs and documenting within all information systems.

Coordinate the patient schedule for multiple modality areas, communicating schedules with staff, radiologist, and procedural providers. Proactively identify solutions for issues that hinder service delivery and collaborate with all stakeholders for optimal resolution.

Facilitate department communications, functioning as a receptionist, greeting patients and visitors, and handling telephone communications for CD requests, orders, technologist messages.

Communicate with multidisciplinary health care team members to facilitate the exchange of information needed to secure services or plan for patient care

Maintain an orderly and professional environment in the work area in order to assist members of the health care team. Manages multiple tasks and modes of communication (telephone, email, Jabber, etc.) to efficiently coordinate information exchange to ensure services are provided accurately and timely.

Orient, train and mentor new employees

High School Diploma or Equivalent, 2 to 5 years of complex clinical scheduling experience

Must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).

Initial Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months.

Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter

Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.

Associates degree
-
5 to 7 years of experience scheduling and/or supporting complex services in a healthcare setting
-
56 hours per 2-week pay period (0.7 FTE)

Monday–Friday shifts: 6:45 AM–3:15 PM, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Rotating schedule: 4 days one week, 3 days the next
