Reporting to: Warehouse Manager
Position Summary
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for directing daily warehouse operations and leading a team of associates to ensure accurate inventory management, proper product handling, and a safe, efficient work environment. This role serves as the primary point of contact between warehouse staff and the Warehouse Manager, providing hands-on guidance, coaching, and accountability. The Lead oversees cycle counts, investigates discrepancies, coordinates shipment loading/unloading, and ensures all productivity, quality, and customer service standards are consistently met. The position requires a proven leader who can motivate a team, resolve operational challenges, enforce safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement across warehouse processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate with inventory analyst on investigating and resolving inventory count discrepancies.
- Oversee and ensure accuracy of all necessary documentation (i.e., logs, reports, etc.)
- Direct and train associates on proper product handling and storage to best facilitate counting and throughput.
- Enforce warehouse cleanliness, organization, flow, and safety standards across all team members.
- Assign, oversee, and participate in order picking to meet scheduling demands and productivity targets.
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse, including proper organization and maintenance.
- Ensure productivity, quality, and customer service standards are met.
- Supervise and assist with loading and unloading daily scheduled shipments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Drive accountability for proper implementation and follow-through on warehouse processes and procedures across the team.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Abide by all safety regulations set forth by OSHA and Facilities.
- Effectively lead, motivate, and develop warehouse associates; serve as a point of escalation and support for team members during shift operations.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate willingness to work overtime as required. Available for evening and weekend hours work schedules if needed to fulfill customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced forklift and electric pallet jack operator.
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy.
- Strong organization and prioritization.
- Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience coaching, training, or directing warehouse staff.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles and/or box truck is a plus.
- 4+ years of warehouse experience in a fast-paced setting, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Strong attention to detail.
Physical Demands:
Medium - Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to stand for a long period of time as well as raise and move up to 50 pounds unassisted and maneuver drums weighing approximately 440 pounds.
- Must be able work in refrigerated conditions [33-38 degrees], and work in environment with exposure to loud machinery, when necessary.
