Our PD team receives details from the Design team and coordinates with an appropriate factory for production. They serve as the key contact between the factory and Dreamwear in the creation of the finished product (handles pricing, lead time, quality, etc.).
We are seeking a Senior Product Development Coordinator to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple factories on apparel production, (big plus if past experience includes womens' sleepwear and/or the off-price market), with an ability to manage the entire process on their own. (The expectation will be to start learning to take on the sourcing aspect after an onboarding process.) They must be able to work on a large team, communicating across multiple cross-functional partners and execute these essential responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily communication with overseas manufacturers and production offices.
- Collaborate daily with cross functional partners regarding challenges, solutions, and appropriate next steps.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of product development process from concept to finished product.
- Prepare purchase orders for overseas factories, track production, and monitor delivery status to ensure on-time delivery.
- Oversee all time-and-action calendars and production charts.
- Responsible for follow-up on all product specifications, quality standards, lab dips, testing, sample deadlines, and deliveries. Advise manager of exceptions and advise on best solutions.
- Collaborate with PD Manager on big picture initiatives and best practices.
- Independently assess costing from vendors and make sourcing recommendations.
- Ability to spearhead launch of new customer accounts and/or licensed brands.
- Delegate requests for samples, materials, and approvals.
- Collaborate with internal design team on approvals.
- Attend and actively participate in internal meetings
- Attend fittings and relay issues to manager and vendors.
- Oversee process of all data entry into our production management system, including style set-up, and creating and maintaining purchase orders to the factory.
- Manage process for all pre-production, TOP, photo samples and customer samples.
- Manage specific categories, brands, or customer accounts in collaboration with manager.
- Manage seasonal interns and delegate responsibility appropriately.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- 4-6 years relevant experience.
- Prior industry experience in product development or manufacturing is required.
- Understanding of women's intimates is a huge plus, but not required, however some sort of garment experience is mandatory.
- Must have experience working with and communicating with international vendors.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically (and internationally as needed) is required.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but experience is the priority.
