PURPOSE
Level of responsibility will vary with level of experience. The Concrete Worker supports various construction projects by performing tasks related to forming, placing, finishing, and curing concrete. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in physically demanding environments, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient worksite.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare work areas by setting forms, installing rebar, and ensuring proper grade and elevation.
- Mix, pour, spread, and finish concrete for foundations, slabs, sidewalks, curbs, walls, and other structures.
- Operate a variety of concrete tools and equipment such as screeds, trowels, floats, vibrators, and saws.
- Monitor the curing process and apply proper techniques to achieve desired strength and finish.
- Assist with demolition, site prep, and material handling as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, specifications, and project timelines.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in clean, safe condition.
- Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to support completion of daily tasks.
- Maintains and organizes tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Recognizes safety hazards and communicates them to the project team; participates in correcting issues under direction.
- Attends safety training and completes required certifications.
- Displays MV core values and conducts daily work with professionalism and integrity.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support field operations.
- Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work areas.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma
- 4+ years of prior experience with concrete work is required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of concrete materials, tools, and finishing techniques.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
