Maintenance Tech at Bazooka Farmstar – Washington, Iowa

Location: Washington, IA, 52353

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Bazooka Farmstar's business goals and objectives. Facility is operating 7 days a week and may be on call to support during the off-shift.

• Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment, such as forklifts, in performing duties.
• Lead in installing and maintaining production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions to ensure that the facility is properly maintained.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Attend to equipment repairs and problems promptly.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Perform routine inspections to identify any malfunctions and replacements.
• Maintain complete documentation of production maintenance and repair work.
• Coordinate equipment purchases and installations, including materials.
• Schedule and ensure that general maintenance is completed without causing production downtime.
• Provide technical support to daily plant operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned including other areas/departments.

• Requires a high school diploma.
• An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus, and/or 5 years of industrial maintenance related experience.
• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
