About This Position
Job Title: Inventory Control
Summary

The Inventory Control / Material Handler is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting production and warehouse operations, and ensuring materials are properly received, stored, and tracked. Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept:
• Material Handling - Picking parts for order fulfillment.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts through daily cycle counts and periodic audits.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in ERP system.
• Assist in determining root causes of inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
• Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, planning, and production teams to ensure parts are available when needed.
• Support material movement and transation accuracy for manufacturing and kitting operations.
• Maintain lot control records and ensure traceability compliance.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects, including process documentation and optimization.
• Assista with implementation and maintenance of inventory-related IT systems and barcode scanning tools.
• Ensure parts are properly labeled, store, and handled according to company procedures.
• Always follow all safety rules and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area at all times.
• Assist with other tasks or projects assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
• 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or materials management (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and ERP systems (NetSuite/RF-Smart experience a plus).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (valid certification preferred).
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Ability to lift 40lbs and work in a fast paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with “ABC” inventory grouping systems.
• Prior experience in the aviation or manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of updating material dimensions and weights in a database system.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, vibration, heat and cold may occur. Position may require long periods of standing throughout the shift. At Van's Aircraft, you’ll work in a dynamic warehouse environment that supports production, customer service, and engineering teams. The role will involve hands-on tasks, such as operating warehouse equipment and organizing materials, as well as administrative duties like updating records and resolving discrepancies. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to adhere to all company safety protocols.
