Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing data governance programs, policies, and processes, and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and compliance.
- Support the development and implementation of data management and governance frameworks aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to identify program needs, data domains, governance structures, and responsible parties (e.g., data owners and stewards).
- Develop and implement data collection and analysis techniques to evaluate program performance and outcomes.
- Conduct program assessments, including annual reviews of data management activities, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Define and track metrics to measure data governance and program maturity.
- Establish and document policies, procedures, and standards for data lifecycle management in alignment with federal mandates (e.g., ZTA, EBPA).
- Partner with business owners to define data quality rules, standards, and validation processes.
- Ensure proper documentation of program changes, policies, and outcomes to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Support strategic planning efforts and participate in program governance meetings.
- Implement quality control measures and data validation processes to ensure program success.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on governance policies, best practices, and program requirements.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. 8+ years of experience working with business stakeholders, data analysis, or program evaluation.
- 5+ years of experience supporting or leading data governance or related program initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, database technologies, and data architecture.
- Familiarity with the DAMA framework and data governance best practices.
- Proven ability to analyze, develop, and document policies, procedures, and program requirements.
- Experience developing performance metrics.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting governance for mission-specific data standards.
- Experience and/or willingness to learn HTML and other low-code tools
- Experience using Collibra or other meta-data management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or advanced certification in data governance (e.g., DGSP, CDMP).
- Experience supporting and developing evaluation frameworks, and maturity models.
- Experience as a Collibra Administrator or developer.
- Proficiency in SQL, AWS, or other cloud-based tools.
- Financial markets experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra) preferred.
