Job Overview: Children’s Specialized Hospital in Union, NJ is looking for a qualified individual to be a Supervisor in our Occupational Therapy department. This individual would be responsible for the administrative and clinical oversight of the department with assistance from the Director or Manager as needed. Qualifications:- Graduation from an accredited program as required by profession,
- A Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree as dictated by profession,
- A minimum of five years clinical experience working with pediatric population preferred,
- Previous clinical supervision in the profession preferred,
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams preferred,
- Demonstrates clinical excellence and leadership ability,
- Evidence of good time management skills and the ability to make effective decisions,
- Maintains a positive attitude and has excellent communication skills,
- Ability to influence, guide and motivate staff,
- Demonstrates tact, initiative and judgment in performance of duties,
- Flexibility both in work hours and performance of duties,
- Professional membership of discipline required,
- American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification required,
- Satisfactory completion of Certification Examination of National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists and maintenance of registration required,
- NJ State license in Occupational Therapy,

Full-Time
- Oversees weekly staff schedules, monitors documentation deficiencies, monitors outpatient flow stats,
- Monitors volumes and reviews with staff and plans accordingly,
- Assists with coordination of outpatient schedules for patients needing multiple services if applicable,
- Ensures that department follows administrative and clinical policies and procedures,
- Identifies need for improvements and suggests modifications to related policies if needed,
- Takes an active role in assuring the organization meets regulations that oversee their practice,
- Handles customer service issues and is responsible to make sure department upholds Service Excellence standards at all interactions,
- Takes an active role in reviewing Press Ganey survey and performs follow up
- Assists with hiring of new staff,
- Responsible for orienting new staff to dept,
- procedures, provides clinical supervision to staff and aides, ensures staff meet dept,
- expectations,
- Responsible for PI process, 90 day review, and APR process with input from the manager director,
- Assists in developing a process for recruitment and retention of experienced clinicians,
- Evaluates and treats patients according to Best Practice Standards,
- Ensures staff adheres to family centered care philosophy and best practice within clinical evaluations, goal development, treatment and discharge planning through periodic review and monitoring of documentation,
- Shares skills and knowledge for staff clinical growth,
- Partners with the clinical lead team to identify best practice guidelines and implement changes to service delivery,
- Partners with staff to develop Personal Development Plans and monitors progress for goal attainment,
- Identifies, inspires and helps to grow new leaders in the organization at the personal, clinical, departmental and organizational level,
- Oversees department inservice training,
- Assists in maintenance of relevant department manuals and education records
- Attends Leadership Retreats and other meetings as selected by Directors,
- Shares relevant information with staff,
- Communicates and assures understanding or relevant organizational and site level information to all staff in a timely manner
