Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external HR customers while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support and provide backup daily Human Resources operations including payroll, recruiting, onboarding, employee recognition, benefits, and administrative functions.
- Coordinate job postings, communicate with candidates, and assist throughout the recruiting and hiring process.
- Process background checks, reference checks, pre-employment paperwork, drug screens, and physicals.
- Schedule and coordinate new hire orientation sessions, onboarding activities, and driver orientation training.
- Maintain employee files, including I-9 documentation, EEO information, and onboarding records.
- Assist associates with new hire paperwork, HR questions, employment verifications, and password resets for HR systems.
- Generates HR reports as needed in various systems (attendance, personnel changes, performance review progress, etc.).
- Prepare orientation materials, welcome gifts, recognition items, and employee communications.
- Coordinate employee recognition programs including anniversaries, birthdays, service awards, sympathy acknowledgements, and special events.
- Assist with planning and hosting company events, recruiting events, and quarterly fun activities.
- Maintain HR office supplies, equipment, files, mail distribution, and general clerical duties.
- Create, organize, and update HR procedures, forms, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build positive working relationships with associates, supervisors, HR team members, and all internal departments.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration and teamwork, working closely with co-workers to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing and other duties.
- Provides backup support to HR team members by assisting with workload coverage during absences, peak periods, or special projects, ensuring continuity of service and consistent adherence to HR standards and timelines.
- Local travel to complete assigned duties.
- Maintain regular attendance and contribute to a safe and positive work environment.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma; or
- Two years of related experience and training, or
- Equivalent combination of experience and education.
Certifications and/or Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
