Laboratory Assistant in Frederick, Maryland at HSRL Operating LLC, dba StageBio

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform routine tasks, such as printing cassettes and slides
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety and chemical regulations as outlined in StageBio’s SOPs
• Ability to learn multiple tasks within the field of histology
• Ability and willingness to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Must be capable of understanding StageBio’s SOPs
• Be very detail-oriented with both routine lab tasks and paperwork • Be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
• High school diploma required
• College degree in the Sciences or 3 years’ experience in a similar role preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) up to 60% of the time
• Occasionally required to traverse throughout the laboratory or to retrieve equipment, supplies or specimens
• The employee is required to operate computer keyboard, laboratory instruments, and small laboratory tools such as pipettes, cutting instruments, glass tubes, dishes and/or slides
• Prolonged vision requirements including viewing computer screen and paper reports/documents
• Visual acuity is required to distinguish fine gradation of color or structure and closely examine specimens
• Exposure to toxins exist, but potential for personal injury or harm is minimized if established safety and health precautions are followed
• Able to read and understand all Safety Guidelines applicable to assigned work area
• Working in laboratory environment and working around lab equipment
Use of personal protective equipment may be advised or required
