Job Description:
SUMMARY:
Shipping & Receiving Clerk performs hands-on receiving, inspection, documentation, packaging, staging, and on-base delivery of materials in support of NUWCDIVNPT Property Accountability Services. Working within Navy ERP and warehouse procedures, this role ensures materials are accurately received, properly packaged and marked, and delivered within required priority timelines, with complete chain-of-custody and compliance with Navy/DoD standards for hazardous, shelf-life, sensitive, and classified items.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping & Receiving Clerk performs hands-on receiving, inspection, documentation, packaging, staging, and on-base delivery of materials in support of NUWCDIVNPT Property Accountability Services. This position supports the DOD on a federal installation, and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.
8:00am 5:00pm, MondayFriday

Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Essential :
High School Diploma
Experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations, including receiving, documentation, staging, issuing, and basic inventory support.
Familiarity with ERP/WMS transactions (preferably Navy ERP (SAP ) ) for goods receipt/issue, transfer postings, inquiries, and report generation (e.g., manifests, LX reports).
Experience operating MHE (pallet jacks, forklifts) and conducting equipment inspections.
Ability to obtain/maintain required OSHA-compliant MHE/forklift certifications

Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is generally performed in an office environment which requires sitting or standing and working on a
computer for long periods of time . Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods oftime. Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for: bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time, operating through extended periods of high stress. If applicable th e employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to70 pounds. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard. Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear or other safety gear as appropriate
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. Job is performed in an office and warehouse environment with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. If applicable work 10(+) hours per day. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. Will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and Holidays. Overtime may be required.
EXPECTATIONS:
Transportation & Access: You must have reliable transportation to and from work and be able to access military installations.
Background & Drug Screening: Employment requires passing a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug and alcohol testing may also occur without prior notice.
Timesheets: Record your actual work hours daily and ensure your entries are accurate and timely to support smooth operations.
Dress & Punctuality: Arrive on time and dress appropriately for your shift.
