Commercial Sheet Metal Welder I at Rogers Mechanical Contractors – Cocoa, Florida

Description:

Rogers Building Solutions, Coastal Mechanical Florida business unit, is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Southeast and is currently seeking a Commercial Sheet Metal welder to work in the Central/East Florida areas. Work is primarily in the healthcare, educational, industrial and Government sectors. This is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements:

Duties & Responsibilities (LIST IS NOT INCLUSIVE)

· Fabricate and install sheet metal ductwork, including fittings and duct sections, in the field.

· Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel, including grease ducts and watertight welds.

· Set up and maintain welding equipment, including wire, gas, and other consumables.

· Read and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.

· Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

· Travel to project sites as required and adapt to varying work environments.

Qualifications:

· Strong knowledge of the sheet metal trade with proven field experience.

· Proficient in MIG welding, including stainless steel and carbon steel.

· Ability to fabricate ductwork and related components in the field.

· Capable of setting up welding equipment, including wire and gas.

· Must have their own basic welding and sheet metal tools.

· Willingness and ability to travel to multiple job sites.

· Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred:

· Prior experience on commercial and industrial projects.

· Familiarity with grease duct fabrication and watertight welding.

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

6. Other Qualifications:

• Clean and Valid Driver’s License: Required for traveling between job sites.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I-9 upon hire.
• Employment subject to E-Verify confirmation.
• Must be able to travel to multiple construction sites within the U.S. and present acceptable identification for security or travel purposes.
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet job-site access requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Climbing up and down ladders

• Push, pull and frequently carry objects as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. – Stand and walk for long periods of time.

• See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.

• Overtime and weekend availability, regular attendance

• Work in heat and various other weather conditions

• Travel to current job sites within Florida
