Pickleball Professional at Woodrow Fitness LLC – Lebanon, New Hampshire

Overview of General Responsibilities:

The Pickleball Coordinator acts as the primary contact person for pickleball and assists in the development and growth of Pickleball at the RVC. The coordinator is expected to maintain positive relationships with players and to work closely with the Racquet Sports Director to identify Pickleball opportunities and to promote participation in pickleball programming. The coordinator is expected to be familiar with all racquet sport programming options and to communicate with customers clearly and effectively. The coordinator may also be asked to assist with team development.

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Live by and follow RVC’s Purpose and Core Values
• Represent the RVC Racquet Sports Program in a positive manner
• Be a team player and help the entire staff excel and provide the best quality and professional services to clients.
• Oversee current in-house leagues including formatting, scheduling, and maintaining standings.
• Develop promote pickleball clinics, lessons, leagues and socials.
• Develop new league opportunities in coordination with the Racquet Sports Director
• Assist in recruiting players
• Communicate with the FITshop staff to schedule court times and ensure payment
• Ensure payment is received for leagues
• If teaching or assisting on the court, the coordinator must
• maintain a professional appearance and be in full uniform
• have a plan for each lesson or clinic
• teach on the assigned court
• arrive for lessons/clinics five minutes early and complete them on time
• properly store equipment and assist in keeping the courts, lobby, and storage area clean.
• take attendance
• Maintain up to date on new pickleball trends
• Additionally: This position may be asked to assist in other areas of RVC. Cooperation is assumed. All staff members work as a team to provide superior service that RVC bases its reputation on.

Personal Qualities and Expectations (including special demands):

• Current certifications in CPR and AED training; one-on-one experience with training clients.
• Current certifications from at least one of the following nationally accredited organizations: USPTA, USPTR, USAPA, or PPR. If not certified, must be working towards becoming certified.
• SafeSport Certified
• Reliable, friendly, upbeat, and willing to assist in any way possible.
• A fit and healthy lifestyle, leading by a fine example.
• Self-confidence in professional capabilities and a strategy for continuous success.

Skills Required:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to play at a 3.5 or higher level.
• Must be certified (provided by RVC) in belaying for rock climbing wall.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A professional is usually seen practicing tennis/pickleball skills and teaching and instructing the same to his/her players on lawn tennis grounds. He/she generally guides his players and makes them play and exercise abundantly in order to build their stamina, muscles, and strength. He/she accompanies the players throughout the day and trains them for around six to seven hours, each day. He/she works in a hardworking, fast, and dynamic ambiance, under all weather conditions.
