Location: Hotel Arista
Department: Zorba
Reports to: Executive Sous Chef
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Compensation Range: $18-22/hour commensurate with experience and education.
Age Requirements: Must be 18+
Additional Requirements: Must be available Weekdays, holidays and weekends.
Role Summary:
The Line Cook II is responsible for creating an exceptional culinary experience for restaurant guests through the preparation and presentation of the restaurant's menu. A cook at this level requires moderate supervision and training.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists Cooks IV and III in the preparation of foods according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
2. Trains and supervises Cook I in the preparation of food.
3. Sets up station and ensures that the work area is operated in an efficient manner.
4. Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
5. Restocks items as needed throughout shift.
6. Supports the cross-training efforts of the chef.
7. Informs supervisor of any kitchen machinery that is not working properly.
8. Properly stores food in designated containers and areas to prevent spoilage.
9. Assists in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
10. Be familiar with applicable emergency procedures and evacuations including fire, bomb threat, power failure, and injury to and illness of persons.
11. Follows hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
12. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
1. High school diploma or equivalent education
2. Culinary degree from a recognized culinary institute, or equivalent experience
Experience
1. Two or more years experience as a line cook
2. Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
Skills
1. Neat and clean appearance
2. Ability to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
1. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
2. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
