Position Overview

The Detailer is responsible for cleaning, polishing, and restoring both the interior and exterior of vehicles according to company standards and client requests. This role uses a variety of cleaning tools and products — including buffers, vacuums, hoses, and steamers — to ensure every vehicle meets the highest appearance and quality expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Wash and clean all vehicles in compliance with company standards and customer requests.
  • Ensure all windows and sunroofs are closed and automatic wipers are disabled before washing vehicles.
  • Verify that vehicles are suitable for machine washing prior to sending them through the wash.
  • Double-check every vehicle after cleaning to ensure quality and move or park vehicles in the designated area.
  • Notify Management if additional supplies, materials, or tools are needed.
  • Handle cleaning products, towels, and equipment properly and safely.
  • Follow all Management directions and safety procedures at all times.
  • Perform clay, polish, and wax services using appropriate tools and products, including buffers, compounds, and sealants.
  • Maintain awareness of different surfaces and finishes to avoid damage and ensure proper care.
Requirements
  • Valid, unrestricted California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company insurance requirements.
  • Ability to operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to safely maneuver vehicles in tight or confined spaces.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
General Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with vehicle movement and lot duties
