Operations Sr Mgr at Coherent Aerospace & Defense Inc – Longmont, Colorado

Attalon, Emerging Products & Technologies (EP&T) Business Unit is seeking a Business Operations Manager to lead business operations across EP&T programs and sites. This manager will be responsible for the management of supply chain, shipping and receiving, inventory control, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and will contribute to business process optimization. This person will be responsible for managing a small team of individual contributors in the operations area across multiple EP&T sites (e.g. in CO, OH, and NJ) and will participate actively with procurement while the team is small and growing.

This role involves collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams on exciting and challenging product developments in the areas of High Energy Lasers, gimballed assemblies, space-based optical telescopes, and active sensing.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The EP&T Business Operations Manager will lead and actively participate in the following supply-chain functions:

Management of and active participation within a small team of procurement specialistsSupplier and vendor management, including developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans and establishing long-term relationships with key suppliers to realize cost savings and favorable termsDevelopment of supply-chain cost-reduction strategiesAssisting program management in oversight of vendor contract performanceDeveloping synergistic relationship with procurement groups in sister Aerospace & Defense business units, using the same processes where applicable and de-conflicting the use of EP&T-specific processes within a common ERP system.

The EP&T Business Operations Manager will also provide oversight of the following business operations functions:

Environmental Health & Safety: work with local facility managers on all aspects of environmental health and safety, including compliance with company EH&S initiatives and all safety regulations and environmental laws, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.Shipping and receiving: oversee shipping and receiving personnel across EP&TInventory control: oversee transfer of materials to and from shipping and receiving and into bonded storage before handing off to local manufacturing operations

Interacts regularly with senior management of EP&T to collaboratively develop, document and implement new processes.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, STEM discipline or other relevant discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience.

Managerial experience of 5+ years.

Prior experience with supply-chain management, including supplier sourcing and procurement, is necessary. Experience with the IFS ERP system, management of a small team, strategic sourcing and development of supplier partnerships, is highly desirable.

For Colorado, the salary pay range for this role is $100,000.00- $194,463.00
