Position Title: Supervisor-Security

Description

Wage Range: $69,846 - $111,758 per year

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job Summary:

Provides supervision, structure and guidance for the day-to-day Security, Parking & Transportation Services department operations. Provides administrative support for the department Manager. Provides department leadership in the absence of the department Manager.
Primary Duties:
  1. Provides supervision, structure and guidance for the day-to-day Security, Parking & Transportation Services department operations.
  2. Develops and implements interview and candidate evaluation processes. Prescreens all officer candidates and makes final onboarding recommendations to the department Manager.
  3. In coordination with the department Manager, develops, implements and maintains departmental and Shift Lead training and performance standards.
  4. Monitors activity on all the shifts to ensure performance standards are maintained.
  5. Counsel employees and Shift Leads not meeting performance standards by identifying performance issues, developing action plans for performance improvement and implementing organizational corrective action processes as needed.
  6. Ensures department schedule is maintained and that staffing levels set by the department Manager are maintained. Functions as primary point of contact for officers calling off of assigned shifts. Ensures called-off shifts are filled or if necessary, personally works empty shifts that cant otherwise be filled.
  7. Coordinates with the department Manager, Human Resources, SEIU points of contact and others as necessary in matters relating to employee relations, discipline or other employee related issues.
  8. Works in conjunction with the department Manager and/or other stakeholders in the development of departmental policies, procedures and standards of practice.
  9. Reviews all Security Incident Reports for accuracy, spelling, and proper grammar prior to distribution to appropriate management. Reports any unusual incident reports to manager and follows up on incident reports as necessary. Reviews daily security officer dispatch logs for accuracy and compliance.
  10. Assists department management in managing key and card access system, and electronic security systems to include infant abduction (HUGS), access control and digital video CCTV systems. Responsible for competency with systems, training necessary staff in the use of systems, providing staff support and scheduling general maintenance support.
  11. Monitors department supplies and equipment regularly; reports any issues to the department Manager. Places external product supply orders and equipment repair work orders as directed by the department Manager.
  12. Provides administrative assistance to the department Manager as directed and needed.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in an acute care/healthcare security supervisory or leadership role
  • 5 years of experience in hospital security or related field
  • Basic knowledge of acute care/healthcare terminology
  • Experience with security software, CCTV and access control operations
  • Experience with investigations and working with local and state agencies
  • Current Washington State drivers license and proof of insurability

  • AA degree
  • FEMA-(NIMS) IS-00100.HC, IS-00200a, IS-00700a training
