The Opportunity
As a Senior Implementation Specialist, you will support municipal clients through the setup and adoption of our payroll and financial systems. You’ll gather requirements, configure and validate payroll, deliver training, and provide post–go-live support to ensure a smooth transition. Your accuracy, communication skills, and understanding of Canadian payroll legislation will help clients confidently move to their new system.
This is an onsite position working out of our Edmonton office Monday through Friday.
What You Will Do
- Configure, implement, and support municipal payroll and financial systems, ensuring compliance with Canadian and provincial payroll legislation
- Gather and document client requirements related to payroll, HR, benefits, and finance following the sale of our solutions
- Assist with payroll system design, setup, data migration, validation, and parallel payroll testing prior to go-live
- Ensure payroll accuracy for deductions, benefits, and statutory remittances, including CRA requirements, CPP, EI, income tax, T4s, ROEs, and year-end processing
- Deliver client training on payroll and related financial modules to ensure confident system adoption
- Provide post–go-live support (hypercare), troubleshooting payroll issues and coordinating resolutions as needed
- Maintain clear communication with municipal clients throughout the implementation lifecycle and work closely with internal teams to ensure successful outcomes
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Experience in payroll, bookkeeping, or municipal finance, with strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation
- Understanding of public-sector or municipal payroll environments, including collective agreements and governance considerations (asset)
- Experience implementing or supporting payroll and financial systems
- Knowledge of CRA compliance, statutory deductions, year-end processing, and payroll reporting
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with databases or SQL is an asset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support non-technical users
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively
- Municipal experience is an asset
