About the Role:
The Fleet Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the company's fleet operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This position involves overseeing vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinating transportation logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Fleet Coordinator will also analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices. By effectively managing resources, this role contributes to the overall productivity of the organization. Ultimately, the Fleet Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the fleet operates smoothly, supporting the company's operational goals and enhancing service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Fleet Movements and Special Event Equipment Set-up: Plan and oversee the timely movement of fleet vehicles for events, ensuring that all required vehicles and equipment are in place for special events or operational needs. Coordinate with event teams to guarantee smooth set-up and execution.
- Assist Fleet Manager in Moving Vehicles as Directed: Support the Fleet Manager by moving vehicles as needed to different locations, ensuring proper logistics and scheduling for vehicle positioning and availability.
- Ensure Compliance with All Safety and Security Protocols: Maintain and enforce safety standards for fleet operations, ensuring all vehicles are operating in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. Monitor vehicle security measures to prevent theft or unauthorized use.
- Work with Mobile Clinic Teams and Administration Staff: Collaborate closely with mobile clinic teams and administrative staff to ensure fleet vehicles are always ready and operational for daily functions. Coordinate regular maintenance, inspections, and any necessary repairs to keep vehicles in optimal working condition for mobile operations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Fleet Coordination: Ability to efficiently coordinate fleet movements, ensuring timely deployment and relocation of vehicles.
- Knowledge of Vehicle Maintenance: Understanding of basic vehicle maintenance, service requirements, and repair processes.
- Logistical Planning: Strong skills in planning and organizing vehicle schedules, ensuring proper placement and availability of vehicles for operations and special events.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all vehicles comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Assist with regular safety checks and inspections.
- Emergency Response: Assist with managing and coordinating vehicle breakdowns or accidents, ensuring quick response and minimizing service disruptions.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED: Required as a minimum educational qualification.
- Fleet Management Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in fleet coordination, logistics, or vehicle management.
- Maintenance and Repair Experience: Experience working with vehicle maintenance and repair processes is preferred, as well as familiarity with troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Safety Compliance Knowledge: Experience with safety protocols and regulatory requirements in a fleet or transportation environment.
- Customer Service Experience: Prior experience working with internal teams or clients to meet transportation or fleet needs.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License): A valid CDL is required.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License: A current, valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate fleet vehicles and perform job duties.
Physical Demands:
- Standing and Walking: The role requires frequent standing and walking, especially when coordinating vehicle movements, overseeing vehicle maintenance, and assisting with special event setups.
- Driving: The ability to drive various types of fleet vehicles is essential, including the ability to maneuver vehicles to different locations as needed.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to perform tasks such as handling paperwork, operating fleet management software, and assisting with light maintenance or repairs.
- Lifting and Carrying: May require lifting and carrying items such as equipment, documents, or vehicle parts, typically not exceeding 25-50 lbs.
- Bending and Kneeling: The role may require bending, squatting, or kneeling when inspecting vehicles or assisting with maintenance tasks.
- Physical Stamina: The position demands the stamina to work long hours, especially during high-demand periods such as special events, ensuring vehicles are ready and operational.
- Environmental Exposure: The role may require occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including temperature fluctuations, while coordinating fleet movements or conducting vehicle inspections.
