Job Description

Infrastructure Engineer (Platforms & Automation)

We are seeking a mission-driven Infrastructure Engineer to join our Global IT Operations team. This role is central to modernizing the platform that powers our healthcare-related application suite. If you believe that a manual configuration is a technical debt, and you’re eager to move toward a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) model, this is your seat at the table.

You will be the primary driver in shifting from "manual tickets" to Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You’ll manage our expanding OCI cloud footprint and our large-scale VMware farm, ensuring that our pre-production and QA environments stay in perfect sync with production.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Stability: Provide hands-on management for our dual-site production environment, focusing on Weblogic application servers and VMware virtualization.

Infrastructure as Code: Partner with global leads to advance our Ansible and Terraform deployments. Treat infrastructure changes as code, not manual tasks.

Observability: Guide monitoring towards data-driven, structured incident response using modern monitoring tools.

Collaboration: Function as part of a global team, working closely with off-shore infrastructure engineers.

What You Bring

Linux Expertise: 3+ years in a Linux-heavy environment (Oracle Linux/RHEL) with strong shell scripting and performance tuning skills.

Automation Mindset: Proficiency (or a burning desire to master) Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.

Compliance Awareness: A disciplined approach to system changes to meet strict HIPAA and SOC2 requirements.

Willingness to travel to East Coast data centers for racking and cabling.

Preferred Skills & Mindset

Network Infrastructure Management: Familiarity with Cisco switching and Fortigate (or similar) firewall rules/VLAN management is a plus.

Storage Management: Hands-on experience with Network Appliance (NetApp) administration is a plus.

Monitoring & Logs: Experience with modern observability tools like Datadog APM and CloudStrike Falcon is a plus.
