About This Position
Job Description
Operates heavy equipment and performs jobs as needed for day to day operations of the County Landfill. Assigned to the County Landfill to work under the supervision of the Landfill Manager and Landfill Foreman. Should also be able to perform duties as needed unsupervised. Notifies supervisor of mechanical and safety problems. Performs routine manual labor as required. Follow directions of the Landfill Manager and Foreman. Assist in regular required preventative maintenance as needed.

Job Qualifications
Demonstrates experience operating heavy equipment and a valid Alabama Drivers License required.
Requires Class A CDL's with tanker endorsements; and knowledge; experience operating crawler dozers; excavators and articulating dump trucks preferred.
Ability to understand and follow oral or written policies and instructions.
Knowledge of basic equipment preventative maintenance.
Ability to communicate with others.
