Position Summary:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the first point of contact for employees, providing comprehensive, hands‑on support across their assigned HR functions while acting as a trusted advisor to the business. This role emphasizes strong partnerships, practical guidance, and consistent, compliant HR practices that contribute to a positive and productive workplace.

The HRBP will work from the corporate office with regular travel to field locations to maintain a visible and accessible presence. This position is ideal for someone who is people‑centered, adaptable, and confident in independently navigating complex situations while supporting the business with a thoughtful, solutions‑focused approach. The HRBP plays an important role in aligning HR practices with business needs and enhancing the overall employee experience.


Key Responsibilities:

Benefit & Total Rewards Administration

  • Provide day-to-day support for employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k).
  • Act as a liaison between employees, benefits providers, and brokers.
  • Assist with open enrollment, benefits education, and ongoing program administration.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely processing of benefit transactions.

Leave Management

  • Manage the full cycle of leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation, and internal leave programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Communicate with employees and supervisors throughout the leave and return-to-work process.

HR Operations & Systems

  • Respond to HR inquiries and provide guidance on HR processes and policies.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records in digital and physical formats.
  • Support HRIS data accuracy and reporting needs.
  • Support HR audits working closely with accounting and other departments.
  • Stay informed on HR best practices and regulatory changes.

Payroll Support

  • Serve as a backup for payroll processing and assist with payroll-related projects.
  • Review timecards for accuracy and compliance for all hourly employees.

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain and communicate employee handbooks, policies, and updates.
  • Support audits, internal controls, and HR data integrity efforts.

Employee Relations & Performance Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding workplace concerns, policies, and HR processes.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance expectations, feedback, and employee development.
  • Participate in investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations, ensuring consistent and compliant handling.
  • Lead the performance review process, goal setting, and feedback cycles.
  • Support efforts to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

Cross-Functional Support & Additional Duties

  • Collaborate with HR and payroll teams on special projects and initiatives.
  • Support employee development by identifying training needs, coordinating learning opportunities, and reinforcing available development resources.
  • Support talent acquisition and onboarding by attending job fairs and community events, assisting with a smooth and engaging new‑hire experience.
  • Provide receptionist support as needed, including greeting visitors and answering phones.
  • Support culture-building activities and employee engagement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and 3-5 years in human resources experience or equivalent in work experience.
  • HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain strong working relationships across all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems; ADP experience preferred.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
