About This Position

Position Title: Database Marketing Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Marketing

Department: Marketing

Shift: Varies

Role: The Database Manager is responsible for maintaining the security, accuracy, and integrity of the customer database while driving all direct marketing initiatives. This role partners closely with marketing leadership to develop data-driven strategies, manage vendor relationships, oversee campaign execution, and analyze performance to maximize marketing effectiveness and brand loyalty.

Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience (or equivalent education/experience) in a casino marketing or related data-driven marketing environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both small and large groups.
    • Extensive knowledge of direct mail strategies, player tracking systems, and casino marketing operations.
    • Ability to interpret technical instructions, data models, and abstract variables.
  • Required:
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access and Excel.
  • Preferred:
  1. Familiarity with casino gaming systems, including slot-floor mapping, kiosk management, and business intelligence tools such as OPTX, Everi, & Aristocrat Oasis.
    • Proficiency in SQL with demonstrated experience in developing compliant queries, reports, and data models.

Required Work Cards needed:

  • Valid Gaming card (Registered with Gaming Control).

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Support the Vice President of Marketing developing direct marketing strategies, budgets, and campaign plans across direct mail, email, and digital channels.
  • Build, manage, and evolve email marketing programming, including campaign frameworks, segmentation strategies, messaging cadence, lifecycle programs, and audience targeting models.
  • Design and manage mail matrices, segmentation strategies, and targeted lists to optimize campaign performance.
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of analysts, providing direction on priorities, workload, data standards, and professional development.
  • Extract, validate, and prepare data files for all direct marketing initiatives, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
  • Coordinate with print, mail, and data vendors; negotiate and maintain competitive vendor contracts and manage quotes, invoices, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of direct mail campaigns, including file verification, proof approvals, and final authorization for production.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation for all campaigns, including criteria, quantities, timelines, creative samples, costs, and performance results.
  • Track postal documentation and prepare reconciliation reports for accounting and executive review.
  • Monitor data entry standards and ensure database hygiene, security, and integrity.
  • Analyze campaign performance from financial, statistical, and operational perspectives; provide actionable recommendations to improve future results.
  • Monitor competitive direct marketing activity and incorporate insights into campaign strategy and creative development.
  • Collaborate on brand positioning by reviewing and approving creative and copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Provide monthly tracking of results for all major marketing programs.
  • Maintain monthly budget-to-actual reporting and prepare variance and exception analyses.
  • Stay current on industry trends, postal regulations, data management best practices, and print/mail processes.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration through meetings and clear communication of campaign goals, timelines, and methodologies.

Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents. Ability to write reports, customer correspondence and notices to departments. Ability to effectively handle meetings, communicate one on one to staff and present to large groups.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and give direction in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with and resolve problems involving multiple variables.
  • Requires prolonged standing, mobility, bending, reaching and lifting up to up 25 pounds
  • Requires eye/hand coordination and the ability to use standard office equipment
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
