Driver at GREAT CHEER AMERICA INC – Jacksonville, Florida

We are looking for a reliable driver who can handle daily local runs mostly, offering superb customer service, within the city limits of Jacksonville and sometimes the state of Florida. The driver will be operating either a hook roll-off, cable roll-off, or stakebed to deliver, pick-up, and haul large open-top containers (roll-offs) filled with used metal from construction, commercial, or metal recycling yards. A driver may be asked to switch between trucks during the work shift or assigned a primary one, depending on the need. Performing daily truck inspections, adhering to safety (OSHA/DOT), and communicating with dispatch are critical parts of the role.

Hours will range anywhere from 7:00am-4:00pm, depending on schedule and time of the year. Ideal applicant must also be willing to work in our yard when there are no runs scheduled.

Additional responsibilities and duties are as follows:

• Able to stand/sit for periods of time
• Work in a team and communicate well with others
• Able to take written and verbal directions
• Responsible for daily tasks given by operations manager and dispatch
• Will help with additional yard duties as well, if needed

Driver must have a clean driving record, valid driver's license (Class B, if applicable), reliable transportation, current medical examiners card, and be able to pass a drug and background test. Prior to employment all forms of documents and tests must be presented or completed.
