Job Description:
Where analytical thinking meets exceptional customer service.
Are you someone who notices what others miss? Do you enjoy solving problems while helping people succeed? We’re looking for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives at the intersection of technology, business processes, and customer support.
In this role, you’ll serve as a critical link between city departments and IT—ensuring our internal timekeeping system (UKG Pro WFM aka Kronos) runs smoothly, efficiently, and accurately. You’ll play a key role in ensuring employee profile setups are properly configured and maintained, supporting accurate timekeeping and payroll processing. Your ability to evaluate processes, spot inconsistencies, and deliver thoughtful solutions will directly impact payroll accuracy and employee experience across the organization.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in ensuring employee setups and system configurations are correct from the start—supporting smooth operations and accurate payroll outcomes:
- Support Employee Lifecycle Transactions
Set up new hires and rehires, and process terminations with careful attention to detail—ensuring all records are accurate and payroll-ready.
- Process Departmental Changes
Review and implement profile updates with precision, ensuring all requests are complete, accurate, and aligned with organizational policies.
- Ensure Payroll Accuracy
Assist with payroll close by identifying discrepancies, running reports, and coordinating resolutions before deadlines.
- Resolve System Issues with a Customer-First Mindset
Respond to inquiries via ticketing systems, email, and phone—delivering clear, timely, and thoughtful support while identifying patterns or larger system concerns.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert
Work with the Business Application Specialist II to provide guidance on system functionality, policies, and procedures. Troubleshoot issues, explain solutions clearly, and support training efforts across departments.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You have exceptional attention to detail and take pride in getting things right
- You think critically and analyze problems beyond the surface level
- You bring a customer service mindset to every interaction
- You can balance accuracy with efficiency in a deadline-driven environment
- You communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences
- You’re comfortable working with systems, data, and processes—and improving them
Why This Role Matters
Your work ensures employees are paid accurately and on time, departments function efficiently, and systems operate reliably. You won’t just fix problems—you’ll help prevent them.
Work Environment
This role operates with general guidance and works collaboratively with team members and leadership to support consistent and effective solutions. Your input will help inform improvements while ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
