Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a highly detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support the accuracy and integrity of the company’s product database. This role is responsible for maintaining item master data across ERP and product information systems, ensuring all product details, pricing, and classifications are accurate and consistent. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, thrives in a high-volume environment, and takes a quality-first approach to data management.
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain new product records in the ERP and product information systems, ensuring all required fields are accurate and complete.
• Maintain item master data including product descriptions, units of measure, weights, and classifications.
• Perform routine audits of the database to identify and resolve duplicate entries, inconsistencies, and outdated information.
• Accurately process vendor pricing and cost updates to ensure margin integrity and system accuracy.
• Assign and maintain proper product categorizations and mappings across systems.
• Cross-reference internal item numbers with manufacturer part numbers to ensure alignment with vendor data.
• Support data cleansing initiatives by standardizing naming conventions and improving data consistency across branches.
• Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and operations teams to clarify product information and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized documentation and records of data updates and changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, efficiency, and system processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in business or data management preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in high-volume data entry, preferably within an ERP or distribution environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets, filters, and basic formulas.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to accurately manage complex alphanumeric data.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in data.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
