We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated bench scientist to join the Molecular Therapeutics team to select our lead therapeutics. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background in human iPSC biology, animal husbandry, in vivo biodistribution studies (small and large animal), protein science, molecular biology, and quantitative imaging techniques.
Key Position Responsibilities
- Contribute to both the inception and selection of AAV libraries
- Optimize in vitro and in vivo models to select lead therapeutics for translation to humans
- Design and manage animal studies at contract vivariums and CROs
- Quantitatively compare VG, mRNA, and protein levels in cells and tissues
- Detailed understanding of antibody and FISH imaging techniques to quantify biodistribution and expression levels
- Collaborate within the MTx Department and across the R&D organization to incorporate selected therapies into the Discovery & Translational Development pipeline
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations, patents, publications, and scientific conferences
Experience Requirements
- PhD in Physiology, Pharmacology, Virology, or another related discipline and 0-4+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Or: MS and 6-8+ years of relevant experience; BS and 8-10+ years of relevant experience
- Strong track record in experimental design, animal husbandry, molecular genetics and cellular biology, statistics, protein science, and imaging
- Proficient in methods for quantitative analysis of nucleic acid and protein including nucleic acid extraction, ddPCR, ELISA, and MSD
- Familiarity with lab automation systems is a plus
- Hands-on experience with performing dosing and tissue collection procedures with mouse models is desirable
- Proficiency in computing include Geneious, Endnote, BLAST, Ensembl, NCBI, Uniprot, UCSC, GTEx, Microsoft, PRISM statistics program, Benchling
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Compensation
The base compensation range for this role is: $125,000 - $155,000
Base salary offered is determined through an internal analysis utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short-term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward individual performance and align incentives to Solid’s long term company performance.
