As a CNC Machinist at Maritime Applied Physics Corporation, you will be integral to our manufacturing process, utilizing advanced CNC machinery to create precision components. This role is vital in supporting our mission to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions across various sectors.
Salary Range: $30-$35 an hour
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
- Plans details of working procedure, programs and tooling requirements.
· Set up and operate fabrication equipment with proper tooling (CNC press brake, shear, plasma tables, Bridgeports etc.)
· Interpret technical drawings, nesting layouts, and cutting programs
· Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate CNC press brakes (HACO) and CNC Plasma tables
- Knowledge of material forming fundamentals, die selection and measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers, squares, etc.)
- Must be able to read, follow and understand blueprints, methods, procedural instructions and interpret visual aids
- Must be able to perform basic math
- Proficiency in operating CNC press brakes, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for precise manufacturing tolerances.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years experience in a sheet metal fabrication operation
- 2 years of experience with CNC programs
- Ability to accurately and efficiently complete all required tasks and documentation
- Must be able to function well in a fast-paced work environment and deal with a variety of work situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
- Follow safety and housekeeping guidelines
- Must be a US Citizen
