Skilled Maintenance Worker in Plant City, Florida at White Sands Treatment Center of Tampa LLC

We are seeking a FULL TIME dependable and skilled Maintenance Worker to support the safe, clean, and therapeutic environment of our residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, repairs, and overall upkeep of buildings, grounds, and systems while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity to residents in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility buildings, equipment, and grounds
• Diagnose and repair basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and HVAC issues
• Ensure resident living areas, common spaces, and clinical areas are maintained in safe and functional condition
• Respond to maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner
• Conduct regular safety checks to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Maintain tools, supplies, and maintenance storage areas in an organized and secure manner
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs
• Document maintenance activities and complete work orders accurately
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries with residents
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with management to prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and impact.

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3–5 years of general maintenance experience, preferably in residential, healthcare, or treatment facility settings
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks
• Strong electrical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
• Strong general carpentry skills
• Plumbing knowledge is a plus, but not essential
• Familiarity with CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform residential painting tasks effectively as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
