Position Summary:
Analytic Services, Inc. (ANSER) is seeking a Nuclear Weapons Council Staff Analyst in support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Deterrence, Chemical, and Biological Defense Policy and Programs/Nuclear Matters (OASD(ND-CBD/NM). In this key role, you will support the Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC) Staff by conducting in-depth research, rigorous analysis, and seamless coordination on a wide range of issues related to U.S. nuclear forces and nuclear weapons stockpile.
This position requires all job duties be performed full-time onsite at the Pentagon with no hybrid or remote work options.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Articulate complex technical, programmatic, and policy issues clearly and conciselyand in both verbal and written formfor senior Department of Defense (DoD) leadership.
- Develop written products such as reports to Congress, speaking engagements for leadership, and meeting materials.
- Conduct rigorous analysis of DoD and Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) programs, budgets, and policies to support the NWCs statutory responsibility to assess the adequacy of Military department and DOE/NNSA budgets to meet current and projected requirements.
- Provide analytical support to the NWC Staff and Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters.
- Support the execution of NWC and subordinate committee and working group meetings, including meeting logistics, scheduling, slide development, documenting meeting outcomes, tracking action items, and other duties as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the U.S. nuclear enterprise
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with numerous stakeholders from across the Department and interagency is required to advance the NWCs agenda and support its statutory responsibilities
- Experience navigating complex issues involving multiple stakeholders with competing interests in a fast-paced working environment
- Experience delivering written products (e.g., memos, briefs, reports) for senior leaders and executive management that require little to no rework
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Previous programmatic experience, including program management, product realization teams, and cost/schedule development
- Demonstrated knowledge of DoD and DOE/NNSA programming, planning, budgeting, and financial processes
- Previous experience working directly with the NWC or its subordinate committees or working groups
