Position Summary:

Modesto Toyota is seeking a reliable and responsible Dealer Trade Driver (DTD) to assist with transporting vehicles between dealerships and designated locations. A Dealer Trade Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering vehicles as part of dealership inventory exchanges, commonly referred to as dealer trades. This position requires safe driving practices, attention to detail, and the ability to complete assigned transportation duties efficiently and professionally.

This is an on-call position, with assignments scheduled based on dealership operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport vehicles safely and efficiently between dealerships and designated locations.
• Pick up and deliver vehicles in accordance with dealership procedures and assigned schedules.
• Inspect vehicles for visible damage before and after transportation and report any concerns to management.
• Ensure all necessary vehicle documentation, keys, and related materials are properly handled during transportation.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and dealership policies while operating company or customer vehicles.
• Maintain professional communication with dealership personnel throughout assigned deliveries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to successfully complete a background check, as permitted by applicable law.
• Must be able to safely operate a variety of vehicles, including both automatic and manual transmissions, if required.
• Must demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Previous driving or automotive dealership experience is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

• Requires driving for extended periods and traveling between dealership locations.
• Must be able to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• May require entering and exiting vehicles frequently throughout assigned duties.
• May involve exposure to traffic, road noise, and changing weather conditions.
• Work schedules and assignments may vary based on dealership operational needs.

WORK LOCATION: Modesto Toyota – Modesto, California. Travel to other locations may be required.
