About This Position
Hours: Full-time 40 hours/week
Days: 2 consecutive days off per week
Shift: 8 hours, overtime likely-seasonal, staggered start times seniority bid
Wage: Union Rates: Warehouse level 1- $18.98, Warehouse level 2- $22.54
Union: Teamsters Local 926
Equipment Used: Electric Pallet Jack, Forklift, Barcode Scanner, Utility knife
Materials Handled: Fresh Fruits & Vegetables: in bulk/ sack/ flats/ bins/ or carton packaging
General Description: A Warehouse Technician is responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods within a warehouse environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesCore duties include:
- Inventory Management: Receiving shipments, inspecting and verifying items against purchase orders, labeling, storing, and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent discrepancies.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery to move, store, and retrieve goods.
- Order Fulfillment: Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment, ensuring items are correctly selected, stacked and securely packaged.
- Operators must be certified in the use of equipment, training and certification is provided.
General Physical Demands:
Lifting / Carrying This position is within the Medium physical demand level. Must be able to lift an average of 35 pounds (not to exceed 50 pounds) and carry product as needed (estimated no more than 15 feet) to designated areas
Standing / Walking: Warehouse surface is concrete. Must be able to stand frequently and walk throughout the day on this kind of surface
Riding / Driving: Using a Pallet Jack is performed in a standing riding position. Driving a Hyster Forklift is also performed from a standing position
Bending / Stooping: Must be able to bend at the waist and knees. Stooping is not usually utilized
Reaching: May be needed to pick orders above, at, or below shoulder level
Pushing/Pulling: Pushing or pulling is performed when assembling or straightening less than a full pallet of product is needed
Kneeling: Kneeling may be performed at the choice of the worker if needed
Working Conditions: Cooler temperatures may be as low as 35 degrees and performed inside
Education/Training: As per employer policy
