Position: General Manager
Reports to: SVP of Operations
General Purpose of the Job
This General Manager is responsible for the P&L for their location as well as have full accountability for Operations (warehouse, logistics, delivery, dispatch, office), Sales, Customer Service, and all initiatives/programs driving the growth of the business while controlling costs and improving profit margins. This position requires the ability to manage, mentor, develop and nurture a positive culture while ensuring the highest levels of quality, professionalism, and care for both our employees and clients.
The ideal candidate will have an established record of success in increasingly responsible positions in a general management or operations role, in the event rental industry. They will have a propensity for growing, managing, and developing a business with entrepreneurial characteristics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Execute high quality end-to-end client service, continuously working to improve customer service levels throughout the fulfillment and sales process
- Manage all financial aspects of location: P&L, capital expenditures, forecasting & budgeting
- Hire, develop, manage, and lead key management team members and establish a positive culture and atmosphere of accountability
- Propagate a culture of operational excellence and constant process improvement by guiding, developing and/or implementing KPIs, policies, procedures, and systems
- Maximize inventory utilization and processes
- Manage accounting/administrative functions, including AR/collections, AP, and billing.
- Establish relationships with large clients, scope out large events/venues, manage client relationships, and ensure successful events
- Ensure standards for product and support quality, equipment, and employee performance are maintained, with a cost-effective approach to maximize production.
- Ensure fixed assets are preserved. Initiate recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to company processes
- Develop, monitor, and report on operating costs within functional areas. Alerts management of cost and labor over runs. Make recommendations and implements solutions to problems related to same
- Partner with GM’s across all CE locations to drive best practices, solutions, and growth for Curated Events as a whole in addition to driving local site success
- Assist in driving revenue and market share through the participation marketing and sales strategies to include targeted strategic account acquisition
- Ensure orders are filled according to specifications and consistent quality standards are met
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrated track record of achievement managing a P&L, meeting budgets, and overseeing sales, operations, accounting, and HR
- Must have excellent results-oriented management skills, multi-tasking and time management capabilities, exceptional team leadership abilities, and a strong work ethic
- 10+ years of management experience in the event rental industry. General management experience strongly preferred. Strong operational expertise also required.
- Entrepreneurial minded to drive sales and profitability within a corporate construct
- Demonstrated collaborative approach and mindset to win at location and across Curated Events collectively
- Desire and ability to “own" the customer experience, from phone call or walk-in appointment through delivery, pick-up, and billing
- Able to deal with multiple levels of clients as well as colleagues. Genuine concern for and commitment to employees and customers.
- Keen eye for quality, detail-oriented, with excellent analytical skills
- Clear understanding of the demands and pressures required to succeed in a service intensive business
- Desire to take on significant responsibility and grow with organization
- Must operate as a “hands on” leader who will lead by example and be willing to work in the field and perform any job required when needed.
